I took a sampling of some of the 95 pieces of legislation introduced since 11/1/2012. The one thing that I've noticed over the years of reading a Congressional legislative record is that they must not discuss their bills before they write them up & introduce them. Some bills are overlapping or practically the same. With hi-tech, you would think that they could get their act together & publish One bill instead of four or five. But no, they are doing the same thing that 20 Congress's ago do when it comes to introducing legislation. Ignore everyone else's & put their two cents worth in. :)
My problem with it, these are the People delegated to running this nation. If this is the best that they can do on such a basic level how in the world can we expect them to act coherently on Anything. If there are 20 Post Office's that Congressional people want to rename, stick them All in one bill, not individual ones. If there are adoption legislation needed by the US Congress, which most states do anyway, put it all in one bill. How hard is that to do. (us looking from the other side of the fence..lol )
I also wish they would Consider that there are issue's that need to be address on the State level, not the Federal level. Geez, can't those people earn their paycheck too? Tho, there are on occasion those bills which will 'provide incentives' meaning that the Feds are going to give the States taxpayer money ...in effect ...to do their Election people's job. All those in favor of States Hitting up the Fed ATM some more by States?
Than there is the 'complete investigations' which IMO is putting the cart before the horse. ie find the killers & others present in on the assault of Ambassador Stevens Before we investigate ...than there will be more complete information as to what happened. How hard is that to figure out? Get the defendants & Than take it down to the details. Personally, I'd want to know a Lot of information from their side of the event.
Of the 95 bills that I had return on the search 54 had this after them: Purpose will be available when the amendment is proposed for consideration. See Congressional Record for text.
Do Note: When you are at the Thomas Library of Congress, you only have to fill out the dates you want to get the information about introduced bills. It's the second one. You don't need a search term or any Congressional person's name.
