Once I could pass

through the mass

of quagmire and line

of sorrows

and dine

at the table called life

I could get up over and over

yet, not outrun the horror

of his death

Once I may begin

to be alive

I may want to live again

for not only did

he die

but so did I

Oh, mstanley, I know how much you loved him. He waits for you.

I would be lost completely without my husband. Yet one day I may have to cross that bridge also.......your poem brings tears to my eyes.

I am so sorry for your loss. I'm not that far away that I can't come to you if you need me for anything. Let me know and I'll be there in a jiff.

((((((((((mstanley))))))))))))

Grief is such a hard thing to live through. I'm so sorry you are suffering, dear friend.

That was a beautiful poem even if describing a sad event.

I have good days and then there's the other days. Family and friends keep me with activities like here on the Vine. I tend his grave once a month and then right before and right after are the bad days. Needless to say this wasn't in our retirement plans. Thanks for all your kind thoughts and hugs.

What's weird is I posted this to my little group and didn't know it was available for viewing by others, since I'm the only one in it. I write to him, for him. sighhhh

Sorry for your loss, but this is a beautiful way to remain together in this life. He is waiting for you in the next.

I believe that love never dies-- it keeps going forever. I have never stopped loving my dear family that has gone on, nor have they stopped loving me. They are there, I just can't get to them easily... They come to me in my dreams at night, maybe because I am quiet and still and can 'hear' them. And, I send messagest to them, via God.

My heart goes out to you, dear friend. I'm here if you need anything.

Our hearts carry those memories . I have heard the pain does not go away but softens.

I suppose it would depend on the two people. How close they were.
